November/December & January MVPs
Throughout the CRHL there have been awesome stories about players representing the CRHL and going above and beyond for their team. Both goalies will receive $80 to Broker4Tickets and $20 to Pro Hockey Life! Here’s a pair of stories below from two new winter teams!
November MVP – Chris Cant – Beaver Blasters
The Beaver Blasters number one goalie, Cant, as they call him, has been a backup goalie with the Beaver Blasters since the 2012. Promoted to number one goalie in 2015, Cant has forged the Beaver Blasters into a top competitor in Div 7. Despite his inability to skate, Cant presumed his role as number one goalie and has shown to the team that, even with an inability to do something, you can achieve greatness.
His teammates have had only positive things to say about Chris:
“Behind arguably the worst defense in the league, Chris has kept the Beaver Blasters Blasting.” – Doug Crossman #69
“I’m shocked he can last the whole 44 mins” – Dan Enns, Beaver Blasters Defenseman
“Chris won MVP?” – Colin Gibbs, Head Coach
December MVP – Ryan Todd – Whalers
We don’t have the most offensive team in the division and we struggle to get 2 lines on a consistent basis so our team is often on the wrong side of odd man rushes. Todd has been so consistent and has definitely been a huge part of our teams wins especially. He has a positive attitude and is a quiet leader in our dressing room.
He really is the rock on the back end for us and he gives the rest of the team the confidence that even if we give up an odd man rush he is going to be there to bail us out.
