February MVP – Dedication to the Game
CRHL’s February MVP is not necessarily a big contributor on the ice, but he has certainly contributed in the lives of one particular team in our league. Harry Fensel, father of Shawn Fensel (pictured), has been in attendance to every single OttawaWaterfront.ca game since the team’s existence in the early days of the OSMHL. Harry turned a spry 80 years old this year and was also unfortunately re-diagnosed with cancer for the third time. Despite the diagnosis, he still has gone out of his way to show his support to the CRHL and OttawaWaterfront.ca. The team as a whole nominated Harry for his legendary support and tenacity and strength to fight cancer for a 3rd time. Not only was Harry the recipient of our $80 gift card to Borker4Tickets, but he also was surprised with a team jacket from the team. The actions and thoughtfulness of OttawaWaterfont.ca and Harry Fensel are excellent examples of the character we want to encourage with the CRHL. So when you get a chance, send your parents some thanks for making sure you have been able to play the game you love for so long!
